Firmware

AXP.OS for the Samsung S5 does not include any firmware so you need to ensure having the correct one manually. Skipping this step might result in unexpected behavior and problems later on.

For this follow the firmware guide (this step needs to be done only once).

If there is no specific guide for your device or model check the firmware guide for klte (@LineageOS wiki) and ensure you choose the Android version matching the AXP.OS release.

Install / Upgrade

Required firmware/bootloader: Android 6.0.1 (recommendation here)

recovery

While not recommended you can use any other recovery of course but keep in mind that only the official one is able to verify the AXP.OS OTA signature and is hardened like the OS itself. So it is HIGHLY recommended to use the official AXP.OS recovery.

Flashing the recovery should be done by using heimdall (a tool which is e.g. included in mAid):

heimdall flash --RECOVERY recovery.img

then boot to recovery and follow the regular Install (non A/B) guide:
